My Pastor, My Friend, My Brother

My Pastor, My Friend, My Brother

I have love in my heart for my Pastor, my friend
He’s the one, without doubt, those I find, I will send
He will teach them and show them the ways of the Lord
He will truely convey what is meant by God’s word

He tells of all things of our Saviour and more
He explains that death’s sting need frighten us no more
Both women and men, the young and the old
He’ll talk with in ways so God’s will can unfold

He’ll pray with and be with each person of need
And all the requests of unknowns he will heed
His smile is warm, it beckons come near
He teaches of grace, and of Love, and God’s fear

He knows he’s a vessel and God’s word he’ll obey
He shows it with love and compassion each day
He’ll talk to a stranger or sing them a song
He’ll do what it takes just to bring them along

He taught me to love all, and to look in the face
Of those that I meet and to tell of God’s grace
I sit and I listen, he gives glory to God
I know God looks down and gives him the nod

He’s my Pastor for sure, I thank God that we met
I also thank God that its my head he wet
Since we tread the water, in Christ we are brothers
We solemnly swore we’d keep satan from others

I tell all these things, they come straight from my heart
It’s with my Pastor’s help, that I got my new start
I call for my Pastor each night and each day
The words they pour out as I sing and I pray

I pray our church, of its growth through God’s will
The 153 and with more we will fill
I trust in the lord, I trust Him and no other
I have love for my Pastor, my friend, my brother
