He is Risen

A child He gave
A child so sweet
He humbled Himself
He washed their feet
The bread He broke
The water was blessed
He asked us to love
Our souls He’d caress
The time was nigh
He was bound to leave
He promissed eternity
And for us to beleive
He’d join us once more
In just a while
He knew of His pain
He continued to smile
His torment was long
He poured out His love
He pleaded for us
To His father above
The nails and the scars
The blood that was shed
Were offered by Him
So that we could be fed
The light of the world
Shone abound His face
We’d all be saved
Because of God’s grace
